When we design and create, our minds gravitate to a magical point of reference. In my world, these are colour, pattern, fragrance and sounds. My imaginary world and inspiration is “Hotel Tavira”. It is a concept in my mind which is a constant source of reference. It’s my imaginary hotel where the fragrance of the exquisite gardens permeate through every balcony and room. The birds sing sweetly and happily in the sunshine. The colours and patterns are vibrant yet elegant.
Tavira is a beautiful town in the Algarve in Portugal. It captured my imagination years ago. This would be the beginning of this dream like concept I gravitate to for inspiration in design.
I had the pleasure of receiving a very special gift from my beautiful sisters for a milestone Birthday. It was to create my own perfume at a wonderful renowned perfume house in London. I will never forget the experience. Cardamon, vetiver, orris, bergamot, a hint of oud, were a few of the fragrance notes chosen. Needless to say, I named this special perfume “Hotel Tavira”.
